Choosing a college or university has become a more complex process than ever before. It's important to understand the value your future degree will hold, and why BU could be the smartest choice you can make. Considering it's the investment of a lifetime, we feel that Boston University provides unparalleled opportunities for students to fulfill their promise and potential.
For a university of just under 16,000 undergraduate students, BU has a surprisingly small student to faculty ratio of 13:1. And with an average class size of 27, our students engage with professors and classmates in small classes where learning is interactive and dynamic.
BU has been named to the Association of American Universities (AAU)-a prestigious association of top research universities in the United States and Canada. This is in recognition of the quality of research and undergraduate education at BU. We join three other Boston-area schools-Harvard, MIT, and Brandeis-as members of this esteemed group.
Admission to BU is very competitive. This year, 54,161 highly qualified students applied to BU for only 3,700 seats in the incoming class. Admitted students study and live with classmates who ranked in the top 9% of their classes and earned an A- average overall grade.
A BU degree opens doors. BU graduates were ranked 15th among U.S. schools and 43rd in the world for employability in a survey of hundreds of global companies and recruiters.
