What is the B-Pharm course about?

"Bachelor in Pharmacy" or "B-Pharm" is the under graduate degree in Pharmacy. B Pharm can be taken up after completion of Grade 12 in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology as subjects.

B-Pharm is a 4 year course. A pass percentage of 50% is a minimum requirement for B-Pharm admission. Some universities / pharmacy colleges have an entrance exam for admissions. A diploma holder in pharmacy D-Pharm can get a lateral entry into 2nd year B-Pharma directly.

A college offering Pharmacy courses should have an approval from the All Indian Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and the Pharmacy Council Of India (PCI).

A student who completes a B-pharm degree can become a pharmacist, or take up further research in pharmacy and pursue M-pharm or Pharm-D to become a clinical pharmacist.

What is the Eligibilty Criteria for B-Pharm?

The candidate must have completes 10+2 with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Science with major subjects including either, Chemistry / Biotechnology, Physics, Biology, OR D-Pharma - Diploma in Pharmacy, in which case he can get a lateral entry into 2nd Year of B-Parma.

The minimum marks could vary from one University to another.
